Hugo Simberg Fan blåser. Piru puhaltaa. The devil blows. Hugo Simberg (1873-1917) was a Finnish symbolist painter and graphic artist. The devil is frequent character in Simberg's art but doesn't seem to be that frightening. Rather he may make you smile ande feel sympathetic towards him. Sometimes Simberg even calls him the 'poor devil'.
